DIY Makeup Bag

I think a great gift idea for any woman or just for you is a makeup bag, and even better if it’s made by yourself!  This gives an extra value to your gift.
So, I’m going to share with you some DIY makeup bags ideas that I found on the web, and also an extra DIY makeup brush holder, that can be the perfect complement for your makeup bag. You can access the link to the site where you can see the tutorials.

Lined and Zippered

This is one of the easiest to make, it is simple but beautiful. If you are a beginner, you can start with this one.

The envelope style is quick and easy to make.  It’s so cute! It has no zipper, closes with a strip of velcro and has a decorative button.

This is one of my favorites, a beautiful boxy mini makeup bag that has the perfect size to use it as your stylish purse or for a party and special event.

A makeup bag with wedge shape looks great too. As you can see in the second picture, you can attach a decorative flower, this will make your makeup bag look gorgeous! Click on the picture to see the tutorial.

Then we have a pleated makeup bag. It has squared off bottom corners which provides a good amount of inside volume and a nice shape.

Finally, here is the extra DIY makeup brush holder as a complement of your cosmetic bag, easy and cute!

They’re all stylish and easy to make, definitely I will try to make mine! Now, all you have to do is select your favorite style, the fabric of your choice and hands on! :)

Take me Away

Even though I love traveling we really haven’t been on a vacation (other than visiting family) for a while. With a toddler (yes, she’s already a toddler!) and a dog, it’s not that easy to find the right place. Also if we add to the busy schedule of my husband and at my office, it just gets complicated and we keep postponing. So, I continue looking at those amazing destinations on Pinterest and think that we just need to take the time to get out on a real vacation soon.

Here are my findings for this week

Picture here

Sardinia is an isle in Italy. It just looks so colorful and inviting for a relaxing trip where you forget about the rest of the world.

Picture here

I think this is Bora Bora, however I’m not sure. I got the picture from Pinterest, but unfortunately it was not linked correctly to the original source. I love the clear water. I can picture myself just sitting there looking at the water and next to me my husband and daughter lying in a hammock…

Photo here

This Picture is from Serbia, however it does not say where exactly. As you can see I’m just trying to get on a warm beach. We live close to the beach, but it’s cold and the water is not clear, so I really want to get to a different beach where I don’t have to go with a blanket, lol.

Photo here

Another place without name. I just wonder why people don’t add the info when they pin something. Anyways, I would say this is another spot in Europe. I picture it as a small little town where you just go to be on the beach during the day then go for a dinner sitting outside and stay at a vacation home for a week. Do nothing, just enjoy life.

Photo here

Another magical place where you can just hide from the rest of the world. I think I would be actually able to be with my dog here, at least that would be nice, so he doesn’t stay alone at home with his “nanny”.

Well, those are the places where I would love to be right now. What’s your favorite travel destination or where are you planning to go on your next trip?

How to Choose the Perfect Necklace For You

Hello everyone!
This is my first blog post collaborating with Estylo Jewelry! I’m so excited to join this team and share tips, ideas and more things with you. I’ve been thinking what to write about and finally decided to share some tips on how to choose the necklace that goes best with you.
One of the best things about wearing the right necklace is that you can highlight your best features and hide  your “not so good” ones.

Bust:

If you have a big bust and want to dissimulate it, don’t wear thick necklaces that fall right at your bustline, this will make it look bigger. Opt for necklaces that leave a little space between the bottom of the jewelry and your neckline. If you are tall, you can wear long and thin necklaces too, on a V neckline.

Otherwise, if you have a small bust you should wear heavy necklaces hanging up to the point where your bustline begins, this will add some extra weight to your bust.

Height:

If you are petite like Vanessa Hudgens, wear long necklaces because they create longer vertical lines, which make you look taller. Avoid short necklaces, wide chokers and collars.

As you can see in the picture, Nicole Kidman is wearing an elegant choker necklace. Thin and tall women can select this kind of necklace that cut the line of the neck and de-emphasize height.

Face shape:

Oval face: If you have an oval face, you are a lucky woman because you can wear all kind of necklaces. As long as you consider the other aspects of your body.

Square face: Wear large round/oval pendants or pearls. It is not advised for square faces to wear chokers or short necklaces because they can make your face look wider.

Round face: To help  elongate your face shape wear medium or long necklaces. Opt for almost any style that goes below your collarbone.

Long face: Think short and delicate, avoid long necklaces because it can make your face look even longer. A good choise are  short necklaces and chokers to balancing your face shape.

I hope these tips can help you find the necklace that best match with you!

Estylo Jewelry's Feature in BeadStyle Magazine!

I’m so excited to share the news that EstyloJewelry was featured in BeadStyle Magazine in the July 2012 issue. It all began with a message from Naomi Fujimoto, Senior Editor of the magazine. She liked one of my earrings that she found in my shop and wanted to know if I was interested in being in the July issue. First I wasn’t sure if it was for real. I get so many messages from people requesting stuff and a lot are just scams, so I made my homework and found that it was real. Wow, I was just so happy. Beadstyle Magazine is the world’s best selling beading magazine, so it is a big thing to be in it. So, I mailed out the earrings and only a few weeks later I got them back with a note from Naomi stating that I would get the July issue very soon. The feature was together with other designers for crystal jewelry. The earrings she chose are made with Light Vitrail Swarovski Crystals and hanging from luxury flower studs with Cubic Zirconia. So, they matched perfectly to the theme. In June I got in the mail an envelope from the magazine and I opened it and went directly to page 12, which is where I was featured and there they are. My earrings with my name and contact info. How amazing is that? See below the earrings that were featured

And here is the copy of the feature in the magazine.

I’ve already received some messages from people who have seen the feature. Thank you so much Beadstyle Magazine for choosing one of my pieces! If you’re looking for the earrings in my shop, you can find them here.

Estylo Jewelry was Featured in a Peacock Wedding Photo Shoot

I know I haven’t posted anything on my blog for a while, but this is way too exciting for me to skip. In May I was contacted by Christy Whitehead, a professional photographer from Jacksonville, FL. She was looking for vendors for a Peacock Wedding photo shoot and had stumbled upon my Peacock Jewelry collection. The idea of this photo shoot seemed so extravagant and interesting since it was at a Zoo in Jacksonville. How amazing is that? So anyways, we agreed on the pieces that matched the best for the scene and I sent out the jewelry for the bride and earrings and bracelets for the bridesmaids. Check out how it turned out. I just absolutely love it!

This is the necklace I made for the bride. It is made of a Bermuda Blue Swarovski Crystal that is attached to a white ivory freshwater pearl necklace with a small white flower. The chain of this necklace is Sterling Silver.

The matching Peacock Earrings for the bride. The feature same Bermuda Blue Swarovski crystal drops and cultured white freshwater pearls hanging from Sterling Silver ear wire.

And here is the bride wearing the Peacock Wedding jewelry set. Doesn't she look gorgeous? I think it looks great with the white/ivory freshwater pearls.

This is the bracelet for the bridesmaids. It was made with hand linked dark blue pearls and clear rhinestone balls that made this romantic bracelet really stand out.

And here you can see how they looked on the bridesmaids. I didn't receive any close up from the earrings but you can see the small peacock pearl earrings in other pictures. They have the same blue pearls and rhinestone balls as the bracelets.

Bride and Bridesmaids

We are being featured in many blogs and websites, that’s so amazing! I will share more photos with some other Peacock Wedding ideas in another blog post soon. Meanwhile let me know if you like how the bride and bridesmaids looked like with some Estylo Jewelry bling!

Bye bye 2011, Welcome 2012!

I can't believe how fast this year went by. We already started the new year and I'm very excited about it. Every time a year finishes is a good moment to look back at the year and learn from your mistakes, remember the good things and forget about the bad or sad events. 2011 was by far the best year because we welcomed our little Zaide to our family. This happy baby (she literally smiles almost all day) has brought so much joy to our home. I also had the luck that my mom arrived just in time for her birth and my dad and family in law came shortly after and spent some wonderful days with us.

Business wise I can't complain. I surpassed the 500 sales in one of my jewelry shops and 200 in the cufflinks shop, plus all the local, website and Facebook sales, so basically there are more than 1,000 people who wear an Estylo Jewelry item all over the world. I also have over 1,000 admirers of my shop and more than 2,300 Facebook Fans. Wow, I can't even believe how good this year was. A huge thanks to all my loyal return customers that support my business day after day. These are my best seller crystal jewelry pieces.

There are also more than 200 brides that chose my jewelry for their special day. It's so flattering every time I get a bridal order, just to know that they had so many options but decided to wear one of my creations for their wedding. Some weddings were just filled of my jewelry, since they ordered for the bride, mother, mother in law, bridesmaids and flower girls. And of course don't forget about the groom and the best men, they had their custom cufflinks as well. Thank you so much!

But now lets look forward, what's awaiting for Estylo Jewelry in 2012? Lots of new designs for sure! Given that I have so many personalized requests I decided to expand my business offering personalized hand stamped jewelry. Currently it's only available for Facebook Fans, but I will be adding them slowly to my shops.

As for men, I had to stop custom orders for cufflinks because of my pregnancy and now the birth of my daughter, since the process with the resin is toxic. Well, the good news is that after researching other alternatives and trying a few different out I found a great substitution and will start offering them in my shop around mid January. See for yourself how great they look!

Ok everyone, I looked back and discovered so many great things that happened this year and now I welcome 2012 and hope it will be even better. Thank you to everyone who supported me during 2011 and I wish all of you a Happy New Year!!!
