What Color is Your Wedding: Purple Inspiration

For this “What Color is Your Wedding“ we have a sophisticated color, perfect for this fall season: Purple! This color is one of my favorites; it’s the combination of red and blue.  Purple provides the stability of blue and the energy of red, so it’s a good balance for your wedding day, don’t you think?
If you are planning a purple wedding, here are some inspiration pictures of this romantic wedding color.
You can see more pictures in our Pinterest board.

Great ideas, I hope you liked them!
Have a nice week!

Too much cuteness

As I was browsing on Pinterest I just found some of these pictures and thought they are just too cute and I had to share. They just look so gorgeous wearing mommy’s or daddy’s shoes. I remember how I loved to wear my mom’s shoes when I was a kid. Well, not only her shoes, also her jewelry, makeup….I just kept losing so many of her things. I know my daughter is probably going do that soon as well :)

Bye bye 2011, Welcome 2012!

I can't believe how fast this year went by. We already started the new year and I'm very excited about it. Every time a year finishes is a good moment to look back at the year and learn from your mistakes, remember the good things and forget about the bad or sad events. 2011 was by far the best year because we welcomed our little Zaide to our family. This happy baby (she literally smiles almost all day) has brought so much joy to our home. I also had the luck that my mom arrived just in time for her birth and my dad and family in law came shortly after and spent some wonderful days with us.

Business wise I can't complain. I surpassed the 500 sales in one of my jewelry shops and 200 in the cufflinks shop, plus all the local, website and Facebook sales, so basically there are more than 1,000 people who wear an Estylo Jewelry item all over the world. I also have over 1,000 admirers of my shop and more than 2,300 Facebook Fans. Wow, I can't even believe how good this year was. A huge thanks to all my loyal return customers that support my business day after day. These are my best seller crystal jewelry pieces.

There are also more than 200 brides that chose my jewelry for their special day. It's so flattering every time I get a bridal order, just to know that they had so many options but decided to wear one of my creations for their wedding. Some weddings were just filled of my jewelry, since they ordered for the bride, mother, mother in law, bridesmaids and flower girls. And of course don't forget about the groom and the best men, they had their custom cufflinks as well. Thank you so much!

But now lets look forward, what's awaiting for Estylo Jewelry in 2012? Lots of new designs for sure! Given that I have so many personalized requests I decided to expand my business offering personalized hand stamped jewelry. Currently it's only available for Facebook Fans, but I will be adding them slowly to my shops.

As for men, I had to stop custom orders for cufflinks because of my pregnancy and now the birth of my daughter, since the process with the resin is toxic. Well, the good news is that after researching other alternatives and trying a few different out I found a great substitution and will start offering them in my shop around mid January. See for yourself how great they look!

Ok everyone, I looked back and discovered so many great things that happened this year and now I welcome 2012 and hope it will be even better. Thank you to everyone who supported me during 2011 and I wish all of you a Happy New Year!!!

Indie Brides - Feature on US Trendy

Today I was featured on US Trendy's blog!!! Yayyy!!!! For those who aren't familiar with US Trendy, it's a site that promotes new designers. They work with sites like Perez Hilton, Daily Candy, Nylon Magazine and others to help indie designers to get known and get funds for developing heir lines.

But the best of this feature is that it goes perfectly with the series of blog posts that I started at the beginning of this week: Handmade Weddings! Theirs is called "Indie Brides". So for all the brides who love handmade here are fabulous options for your upcoming Wedding.

Here's the blog post directly from US Trendy and you can visit their site here:

Delicious Party Recipe

Last week I posted about having some friends coming over for a summer party and how you could change your home decor for this event. So I thought it would be great to also share a few food ideas to entertain your friends while they're visiting. I found some great dishes and will share one recipe with you at the end of this post.

Everything looks just so delicious! I'm sure you can impress your friends with any of those appetizers. Here is the recipe for one of my favorite Italian dishes, the Carpaccio. (Recipe and Picture by Kevin D. Weeks)

What you need:
- 1 lb. steak (tenderloin is best); partially frozen
- 2 tsp. Dijon mustard
- 1 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup baby arugula leaves
- 1 oz Parmigiano-Reggiano (or other hard Italian cheese)

Preparation:

1. Whisk together mustard, vinegar, oil, and salt and pepper.
2. Slice the steak as thin as possible (this is much easier if it's partially frozen or use an electric knife).
3. Arrange arugula on two plates, top with beef slices, and lightly season with a good sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
4. Garnish with shavings of Parmigiano, then sprinkle lightly with vinaigrette.

I hope you enjoy this fabulous recipe and have fun with your friends! Remember to come back to see a great drink recipe you can use for your get together!

Glamorous Shoes

I don't know if I told you before, but I love shoes! I just have this weakness for bags and shoes. I used to have so many of them, but when I moved from Spain to the US I gave half of them away and lately I have been buying less, since here in the Bay Area it's always cold (at least for me) and I can't wear sandals that often. But anyways, I was browsing for some new shops and found this amazing store that just opened a couple of weeks ago. They have this gorgeous glamorous shoes and I just fell in love with their shop. Look for yourself!
