I'm very excited, I got interviewed last week by Natalie from Scrivenerferret and was featured in a Blog. It's about artists who have also full time day jobs. Please read the complete interview here: Estylo Jewelry Interview
Thank you some much Natalie!!!
She has a Handmade Toys shop on Etsy and goes by Scrivenerferret. A little about her and her shop:
"My name is Natalie Fontane, and I have been sewing since I was about eight years old. After having a hard time finding interesting toys for my ferrets, I decided to make my own. I love making patterns, and everything I make is designed by myself.
You may be wondering what the heck a scrivener is. It all started when I read "Bartleby, the Scrivener" by Herman Melville in college. It's a short story, and I just love the name Bartleby. It sounds dignified to me. I decided I would have a pet with that name, and my first ferret became the famous Bartleby."
Scrivenerferret specializes in stuffed handmade pet toys for cats, ferrets, and dogs. She offers a variety of plush meat and animals as well as stuffed ferrets, bedding, tunnels, crinkle sacks, and colorful toys for people.
If you have been to any shopping center within the last weeks I'm sure you've noticed the change in colors. At least I could notice it when I went to a few stores. Everything is so bright, full of flowers and lots of colors! The colors that I've seen the most are violets, yellow, turquoise and coral. I feel like they all transmit you energy and happiness.
So I decided to make a little research on the internet and see what the experts say. The Pantone Fashion Color report mentions: "Designers bring splashes of sunshine to the runway for spring 2010. Vibrant brights add a sense of excitement to the color palette, while practical neutrals provide a safety net for cautious consumers." Their top 10 colors are: Turquoise, Tomato Puree, Fusion Coral, Violet, Tuscany, Aurora, Amparo Blue, Pink Champagne, Dry Herb and Eucalyptus.
Remember, you don't have to change your whole wardrobe every season. It's all about the accessories! With a few new accessories you can be in fashion and stay within your budget. Check out these items:
But fashion is not everything. Even if you go for a walk or while you're in the car you can see so many flowers in different colors. Everywhere you look, it's all green and full of flowers. A short list of spring flowers include: Birds of Paradise (I love those), Tulips, Cherry Blossom and Orchids. Look at this beauties that nature gives us:
These pictures were taken by my parents in their back yard. And the next one is from the family farm in Bolivia:
So next time you go out, open your eyes and look at all those vibrant colors around you, feel the energy and enjoy!
So, who is Estylo Jewelry? You have probably seen my shop on Etsy or are following me on Facebook or Twitter? But how much do you now about me, besides that my store's name is Estylo Jewelry? I invite you to learn more about who's behind this store!
My name is Sandra and I'm originally from Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Since I was a child I've been traveling around and have lived in six different countries in South and North America and in Europe. I married a few years ago and got a little Boston Terrier puppy a few months later. You can see Alberto (my husband) and Pancho in the picture below. That's an older picture in our apartment in Barcelona, when I had dark hair. So, in July 2008 we moved again and currently I'm working as a Financial Analyst in the San Francisco Bay Area. So far so good. I like California and I've made good friends. It's a little too cold for my taste, but I can get used to it. So after work when I go home I'm always very excited since it's the time when I work on my hobby, Jewelry making. I started doing it because my mom makes jewelry and I thought I could try it out. Looks like I learned very fast and it's actually something I really enjoy! It's a great way to relax, distract from the day to day stress and use all my creativity. And another good point is that Alberto and I share our workshop, while I work with crystals and gems, he works with circuits on his music pedals. So we both enjoy our hobbies and Pancho sleeps on his zebra bed next to our work table :) I don't have a picture of that, but here's another one from like two years ago.
As you can see Pancho is very spoiled! But he's a great dog and I'm very proud of him. He has actually been on a TV commercial! How great is that? I've uploaded a short video on Youtube, so make sure you look for him....
So, that's a little about who's behind Estylo Jewelry. My biggest fans, as you can imagine, are my family members. They follow my store on Etsy all the time and I get good feedback from them. Sometimes things that I really don't like to hear, but it's constructive critic, right? I love my family a lot and I miss them every day! Here's a picture of them on their visit in San Francisco (one of my brothers and his wife are not in the picture) Now that you now a little about me I invite you to see some of my work in my shop: www.estylojewelry.com I hope you enjoy your visit and don't forget to follow my blog for more great posts!
